Asifiwe International Academy grew from one family's homeschool search for a Christian alternative to Uganda's national curriculum into a two-campus school serving over 500 students.

A Homeschool, Not Yet a School
Asifiwe began when Mr. David Kintu Rogers and his wife, Mrs. Mariam Kintu, went looking for an alternative to Uganda's national curriculum for their own children. A conversation with Lorna Magara of Vine International Academy about her own experience with ACE (Accelerated Christian Education) pointed them toward the curriculum the school still uses today. Lessons ran out of the family's living room, taught by Mrs. Kintu and founding teacher Patrick Yekosofati Kavuma around their day jobs.
Opening Our Doors

From Living Room to Campus
On Friday, 4 March 2016, Asifiwe opened its doors to the public for the first time — prompted by Mrs. Kintu's return to paid work, and by there being no existing Kampala school that fit the family's needs by distance or cost. Green Campus, the original site, came first.
Growing
Since 2016
Building a Second Campus
As Asifiwe grew, so did its facilities — additional Learning Center buildings, science labs, music and art rooms, and sports facilities including a football cage, a basketball court, and a swimming pool. Main Campus followed as the school's larger expansion, letting Asifiwe span from early years through to Grade 12 across two sites.

A Decade of Faith, Vision, and Growth
Ten years after opening its doors, Asifiwe now teaches over 500 students across both campuses, with graduates going on to national and international universities. Our students continue to represent Uganda well beyond our own gates, most recently bringing home trophies and medals from the 2026 East African Students Convention.

The People Behind Asifiwe
Mr. David Kintu Rogers
School Director
Together with his wife, Mrs. Mariam Kintu, David founded Asifiwe in 2012 as a homeschool for their own children and has guided its growth into a two-campus school ever since.
Mrs. Ariho Christine
Principal
As Principal, Mrs. Ariho leads the day-to-day life of the school, working alongside our teachers to keep every Learning Center running well.
Mr. Patrick Kavuma
Deputy Principal (Admin)
One of Asifiwe's founding teachers, Patrick taught the school's very first students before it was a school at all, and now leads its administration as Deputy Principal.
Mrs. Mariam Kintu
Deputy Principal (Students)
Co-founder of Asifiwe and one of its earliest teachers, Mariam now serves as Deputy Principal for Students, overseeing student life across both campuses.
Our Campus
A Glimpse into Our Facilities and Learning Environment
Across our two campuses, Asifiwe students learn in dedicated Learning Center buildings — Advanced, Central, and Lower buildings on Main Campus alone — supported by science labs and music and art rooms built as the school grew.
Our sports facilities include a football cage, a basketball court, and a swimming pool, giving students room to build the same character and teamwork values that run through our classrooms.
